Nearly five years ago, a tiny pup was born to a litter of eleven. He was the smallest of the bunch, who was called Rodney and affectionately nicknamed “Runtley”. Little did he know that six short weeks later, his life would be changed forever… and so would ours.

We named him Rebel. And he has been one of the best things to ever happen to our lives.

Through the good times…

And the bad.

He’s been our companion through various trips and adventures.

And has been the best big brother our girls could have ever asked for.

He is super sweet…

and although he can be naughty at times…

He’s our very best boy and we wouldn’t have it any other way.

Recently, Rebel was diagnosed with a cranial cruciate ligament (CCL) rupture, which is basically the equivalent to an ACL tear in humans. We suspect it may have been after a swimming trip in early September when he had pulled something in his front paw, causing him to put more pressure on his hind legs.

It’s been a very difficult time for all of us, especially since his injury has inhibited him from doing everyday tasks. But with the support of family and friends, we’re getting through this together and his surgery is scheduled for next week.

Life really has a way of kicking you while you’re down, but we love our boy and we know he’ll recover from this!
