Love is in the air! And since I was feeling crafty today, I decided to do a little Valentine’s Day project- dollar store style! If you don’t already shop at the dollar store for pretty much all of your holiday supplies, I suggest you start now. They actually have some really fun stuff, and a surprisingly wide variety.
So, I set out to my local Dollar Tree to gather all the materials needed for… candy filled valentine jars!
These are so so SO easy, guys! And again, everything can be found at Dollar Tree. Here’s what you’ll need:
- Glass jars (my Dollar Tree had some really cute ones that looked like little milk jars)
- Candy of your choice
- Cupcake cups
- Baker’s twine
- Rhinestone heart stickers (optional)
- Scissors
- Tags (I couldn’t find any at my Dollar Tree, so I made some at home using materials I already had)
- Hole punch for the tags
- Small rubber bands- the tinier the better!
Simply fill the jars with candy, add a tag if you’d like, and then tie down the cupcake cup on top with the baker’s twine! Tip: use the rubber bands to secure the cup in place while you tie the twine on. If they show, you can just cut them off afterward.
The end result: a super cute, cheap, and thoughtful Valentine’s Day gift for your loved ones!
Fabulously Frugal Tip: Have any old baby food jars at home? Use them instead of buying new jars and save yourself some money.
