The new year has brought so many good vibes my way; I’ve been embracing my plant-based diet surprisingly well and I think my body is finally starting to adjust. Eating right has brought me so much energy and I just feel so much more active and motivated to get up off my booty and work out!
So, Michael and I recently started a workout routine. And when I say routine, I really just mean that we’ve been doing random things with different muscle groups, making sure to alternate days. We’re not really sticking to a specific style or technique, just doing what feels right! But let me tell you, after the first couple sessions, I was absolutely dead. I woke up the day after our first workout and I could barely move!
So after our second session, I whipped up something so stinkin’ filling, and soooo good. It is what the best smoothie I’ve ever had and is also perfect for a post-workout drink!
The best part about this smoothie (besides it tasting amazing) is that it is so simple to make and has just a handful of ingredients!
- 1 cup almond milk
- 1 frozen banana
- 2 Tbsp peanut butter
- 1 Tbsp chia seeds
- 1 Tbsp cacao powder
- 1 handful of spinach
That’s all there is to it! Just throw everything into a blender and pulse until smooth. Frozen bananas are seriously so easy to blend; I just hit “Quick pulse” a few times and it’s all pretty much blended together.
This is my absolute favorite smoothie right now and it’s good for kids, too! Maybe because it tastes just like a chocolate peanut butter milkshake. 🙂
Plus I got to drink the one I used for these pictures! Score! 😉 I know 2017 is going to be a great year- this is our year to get our health on track and really push ourselves to get where we want to be. And if we can do it, so can you! 🙂
