The home is a place where one can truly be themselves. It is a safe haven of sorts where you can just take a load off and relax. It’s my personal belief that a home reflects the person living in it; who they are, what they like, where they’ve been. You can tell a lot about who a person really is once you step into their house.
Personally, I prefer my house to be full of life. I love plants, art work, photographs, little knick knacky things- you name it. I want my home to feel cozy and warm. I’ve always been a bit of a homebody, so it should at least be a space that I can enjoy.
One thing I am always on the lookout for is unique pieces- things that will give the room a little “pop”. Whenever I’m shopping (usually at the thrift store), I will keep an eye out for that special something that I absolutely need in my home. This particular print is a star map and it is especially unique to me. And I’ll tell ya why.
Modern Art’s custom star maps allow you to enter in any date and location and it will show you what the night sky looked like at that specific time and place! Pretty cool, huh? So what’s so special about mine in particular? It’s our wedding night!
The amount of customization available makes these maps perfect for weddings, anniversaries, engagements, or even the birth of a child! I’m actually planning on purchasing two more- one for Had’s date of birth and one for Riv.
When you wish to begin your own custom star map, it will redirect you to the generator, which gives you all the options and lets you build it how you want it to look! Aside from the date and location, you can choose the size, map and text colors, what you would like the title and text to be, and the font.
You can also opt in or out for showing the constellations, but I’m glad I kept them in on mine!
I was impressed with the overall quality of the print as well. The colors were deep and very pronounced with no fading or printing errors to be seen. I received the 16″ X 20″ print and just so happened to have the perfect frame for it already picked out!
I honestly couldn’t be happier with how this turned out. It’s my new favorite conversation piece for obvious reasons and I can’t wait to order more. Another great thing was that shipping was extremely fast and it is 100% free to the US!
