Happy Monday all! I hope all you mommas had an amazing Mother’s Day weekend! This holiday always feels like it brings in the first real days of summer. Everyone’s BBQing, playing, swimming, and just having a good time!
My weekend started off a little rocky (I was stuck home cleaning the house), but quickly turned around into an overall enjoyable weekend with family. It started with Had’s T-ball game on Saturday, which concluded with a trip to the park with cousins and a freezie (it was hot!)
I was then surprised when I got home and saw that the owners of one of the dogs I watch had left this adorable little ladybug full of roses and some fresh strawberries. Yum! I honestly wasn’t expecting anything so it really was super sweet. ♥
I had a late Saturday night trying to finish my mom and mother-in-law’s gifts (which I didn’t get done at all due to the extreme exhaustion that tends to ensue after a long, fun day in the sun), but more on that in a bit!
Then Sunday morning I woke up to…
More surprises from my loves! These adorable little flower pots were Michael’s idea, and the girls colored the flowers themselves. Oh, my heart!
And this questionnaire by Had is pretty spot on. My favorite: If I could go anywhere in the world with her, we’d go “in a star in the top of a really tall Christmas tree”. I’m down! She just melts my heart with her creativity.
The rest of the morning and afternoon was spent finishing up our gifts for the Grandmas, and they didn’t turn out half bad…
I have been super into pebble art lately, so I made some more! This is my mom’s, who thankfully only has four grandkids to paste on.

My MIL on the other hand… nine and counting!(?) (You never know!) But I think they turned cute and I can’t wait to give mine to my mom when she’s in town next week!
I wrapped them both up in this Dollar Tree wrapping paper (I know, right?) which is so incredibly cute. Dollar Tree has become a frequent stop for me lately; you’d be surprised at some of the stuff you can find there!
Later that afternoon, Michael arrived home and surprised me yet again with a new plant, a cute balloon, and my favorite vegan cookies. So perfect ♥
And then Sunday night…
Sunday Funday! This hard cider is the bomb. I don’t have a ton of time to just relax and have a drink, so it was super nice. And of course, it’s 100% vegan! We all gathered at Michael’s parents’ house with the whole fam!
I have some pretty rad nieces and nephews- the girls just love being able to spend time with them! (Plus, they both needed to get out some energy…)
And what’s Mother’s Day without a BBQ?! I sooooo needed this. It was the first time since last year that we had used our little charcoal grill and I cherished every single second of it. I mean, who doesn’t love stuffing their face?
We made some Beyond burgers (of course), and oh my gosh. I didn’t think they could possibly get any tastier but grilling makes everything better!
I concluded the weekend with some late night video games and the cookies Michael bought for me. It was a great time spent with good food and good company. Being a mom can be stressful, hectic, and seemingly impossible to stay sane at times, but just remember that you are enough, you are appreciated, and you are loved.
Happy Mother’s Day!
